If Sarah wins for "Day One", it could be the biggest surprise since Chantal Kreviazuk won for Best Female Artist (over Celine & Shania) back in 2000!

I wouldn't be shocked at all if she wins. I'm just hoping that this category doesn't get picked based on popularity as so many other juno categories do.

Chad Kroeger winning best song writer last year (or the year before) was ummm yeah... right on!

Just a small tidbit of info found on Chartattack.com, Sarah attended the Matt Mays show with quite a few other nominees.
[quote:98999eae41]Midnight Pyramid Cabaret: Matt Mays And El Torpedo
Whats a party without the glitz and glamour? Okay, so the Pyramid Cabaret isnt glitzy or glamorous, but there were plenty of Canadian celbs to make it feel like something special was happening. Matt Mays And El Torpedo were only one highlight of this midnight set. With Billy Talent, Sum 41, Sarah Slean, Great Big Sea, Harlequin's bassist and musical mover and shaker, Ralph James, Jian Ghomeshi, The Trews and MuchMusic grandfather Bill Welychka in attendance, Winnipeggers were having a field day. As the Canadian talent in the audience mingled with fans, one of Nova Scotias most talented musicians pumped up the sold-out crowd. Most of his tunes were from his self-titled debut that was released last week, but that didnt stop the audience from singing along to "Cocaine Cowgirl." With long hair and a bandana around his head, Mays looked a little too much like Kid Rock, but his set proved that he was worth every Juno nomination.[/quote:98999eae41]

Isn't Matt Mays one of Sarah's choices for the sexed-up duet?

On a side note, I saw him and El Torpedo open for Buck 65. All I will say is that I jumped for joy after their set... but more because it was over than for my liking of their music. :?

perhaps not my cup o tea.
