What an f-in joke. Seriously guys.

I wasn't directly affected, although I certainly tried to re-arrange my schedule to get to this breakfast show. And at the end of the day, it sounds like only 4 passioneers were affected. But shit.

First, there's no advance information from anyone - Mix99 or ss mgmt, about anything. Assuming, of course, ss had showed, it would have been helpful for us to know what time she was scheduled to appear during the 3 hour H&F broadcast. Both for those planning to attend in person and those listening on the radio.

Second, she doesn't show. Okay, fine....shit happens. And certainly the weather was horrible yesterday morning. But wouldn't it have been helpful to those in attendance for someone to actually INFORM them that she wasn't going to make it? Just common courtesy if you ask me.

Third, how about an explanation from someone?

Fourth, and I�m probably pushing it here, how about an apology?

People got up at an un-Godly hour to attend the show. People spent a significant amount of time traveling through dangerous weather to arrive at the show. People put in effort, in some cases quite significant effort, to obtain tickets to the show. People gave up three hours (plus travel time) of their time during what is for most people a very busy time of year to attend the show.

All this effort was based on the stated/scheduled appearance of ss.

If something changes - please do us the courtesy of TELLING US! :evil:

ss fans are among the most loyal out there - they deserve better!

I do understand Jim's frustration though... And I seriously hope everything is okay with Sarah -- It's not like her to just not show up to anything... I'm not sure we can blame the SLean crew -- it was never officially announced or confirmed on here by them.... but the Mix people were definitely not so great in getting the correct word out.

BNL were great though, so it wasn't a complete waste of my time lol.

I would be lying to say that I was not disspaointed that Sarah couldn't come. It did take some sacrafices to get to the show, some of which you stated at the end of your msg.

To adress your points.

1. The info on the mix site was unclear from the start. I did my best through the week to keep updating the board and littleslean.com with the info I was receiving from the radio.

2. They were expecting her to make it as the show was going on. Her name was announced as a performer during the first hour and they believed everyone who had not arrived was enroute. I don't know if they knew much more then the audience. On air morning host Judy was even late by 40 mins or so and she was coming from downtown!

3. It's been a day and it is the hollidays. Sooner or later I'm sure it will get adressed.

4. She probally does regret not being able to play. Again, give them time to respond. Sarah could have been stuck in a snow ditch for hours yesterday. In cases like that, I feel like saying sorry to her!

Don't dispear. I think she would have made it if she could and sorry if she couldn't. Remember the mute cute show?

Is this true?
I didn't think they said her name at all. And given that they didn't mention her name at all through the show (or even if they did mention it once), it seemed clear to me she was not expected at all - but they continued to tell some fans that she was still a possibility (as late as 8:30ish). If this was the case for all acts then they should still have been mentioning her name cyclically like they did with the rest (including Pinball Clemens who did arrive late -- they mentioned his name throughout the show). The same goes for Take Three who also did not appear - they were not mentioned at all. While I don't want to unfairly put down the Mix, it was pretty clear to me that they knew from the onset that neither Sarah nor Take Three would be there. If they really believed that all the acts were 'on their way' they would have continued to mention all the acts on a regular rotating basis and continued with their "if they get here" bit.

Once again, I don't believe Sarah would have intentionally or negligently 'skipped' the show... Nor do I think this will go 100% ignored by those responsible, unless it is the Mix people who are responsible because they really have no reason to explain to us. Shit happens, and we all realize that. I think the issue is that, at least in perception, it seems those at the Mix were trying hard to keep the hall filled (pardon the Lucky Me reference) by giving hope to those who were there to see acts that wouldn't be arriving.

So, on that, I can see Jim's (and others, including my own) frustration. However, this isn't really all that surprising. It's not a new trick, and it happens all the time. ALL the time. I've attended enough concerts to know that this happens frequently - usually it's the promoters trying to make the best of a bad situation, and only on VERY rare occasions it's some sort of fraudulent behaviour (I once attended a fake Sum 41 concert... another story for another time).

OK so I've ranted... I guess my point is that YES this is frustrating and YES it sucks, but it's not that unusual a practice, and while it ain't nice of the Mix to do it, they're only following an industry norm. Perhaps integrity in the music industry is something the Passioneers can fight for

On Fact #2. Hymmm I forgot about Take Three being another no show and no mention. They did mention sarah slean to be an arrival as I have that part tapped . You want an mp3 of the Doo Wops? haha

I wish she could have played, but am not heart broken to have missed her. It was a good event and we can see her in feb. I was treated by a choir tonight

I've no doubt there's a perfectly understandable and reasonble explanation....its just that it would be nice to actually HEAR it.

It sucks so bad that all that stuff happened without a word of explanation.

I've been on Christmas holidays and was unable to determine what went down until today.

After touring the UK, Europe and Canada, Sarah went straight into 18 hour days for two weeks on a movie set. The filming ended two days before she was due to make this early morning appearance. She became very ill but still was going to try to make the morning show. On the morning of the event, as the call was made by Sarah that she was just too ill to sing or even appear, I was traveling and unaware of her decision.

Until I returned to the office today, I wasn't entirely sure what had happened. As Sarah is devoted to her fans, you can be sure that she regrets any problems her illness caused.

I knew we'd eventually get one... and I second Jim's comments about the Mix -- especially now that we have it confirmed that Sarah made the call that she couldn't attend, they should never have lied to us and said she "might" still make it.

I hope she's feeling better! It's really awful to be sick over xmas!

Nice to see this tied up.

If the Mix received a call the morning off, I can't see them doing much about it with all that was going on. If they knew she couldn't come they should have told us that.

Me too!! I still have no idea where it was recorded, but I suppose I never expected the Mountain. Most of the murderers in Hamilton are usually downtown or in Westdale. lol.

I don't think I'll be able to handle seeing Sarah kill 2 people. It's gonna warp my fragile little mind.:lol:
