WOAH. It was brief (they only played a verse or two), but I'm listening to CHUM FM's live broadcast from some club right now and they just played a remix of Mary. WOAH. If anyone has any way to convert audio cassette to MP3 or something, please let me know and I will gladly share.
WOAH.

grrrrr to poor reception and not being able to hear it, except for the very end of it...which was *very* staticy I might add. I'm not even sure if I heard it at all.

[quote:9744bd412a="spiffylike"][quote:9744bd412a="nikolita"]unfortunately I can't share it because it's on cassette tape. Sorry folks.

It's possible to record onto computer from a casette tape -- I've done it before...you have to hook the tape deck into the 'input' jack of your sound card, and then use a wav recording program. Press record on tape deck, press record on program...watch the magic...then, of course, you'd have this gibungus wav file to compress into mp3 somehow...[/quote:9744bd412a]

From some thread from a while ago.

all you need is a cable that has the same head as a headphone jack (the silver part), but you need that jack on both ends of the cable. that way you can connect your tape deck (plug it in the headphone part) and into the mic part of your computer. and get a program that can record the sounds from your microphone (like adobe audition, or something similar or more simple) and done and done!

Don't panic, I'll get the arc, you get the animals.

There are multiple ways it can be done.

I would like to know more about the track. Was it a remix or an edit?
Sped up tempo, different beats, etc?

If it was live to air from a club it could have just been the DJ turning the pitch up, cross fading, or upping the BPM. very interesting news.

i never listen to chum on friday, but i know the mix99 is live at the phoenix.

OK I'm so proud of myself because I actually figured this all out on my own! I remembered when I woke up this morning that I had a double-ended headphone jack thingy from a LONG time ago, plugged everything in, and to my shock and utter glee it all worked!!! Unfortunately WAV recording format only supports 1-minute files and they're each 10MB large lol. I had to split it into two files, overlapped a bit at the beginning/end and lost a second or two at the very end but it's here... I will post the link whenever it's done uploading, which could be a while lol. If anyone can suggest any free software with which I can record the whole thing into one file that is significantly smaller, please tell me! haha.

Here's part 1, part 2 is forthcoming:

My favourite version of this song is still the solo piano version. It's so passionate and moving. I kept on hoping she would do that version of Mary at one of the shows I was at (particularly the London high school one).

Thanks for sharing Neal. Smiler

It's actually pretty good. Not the first song I would have picked for a remix, but it sounds good. Thanks Neal!

Good job dude, on the transfering. Thx for upploading.
This is indeed a very good mix. I wonder if she'll release this single with the remix track on the cd.

Cheers.

I think it's just a live cross fade done by the DJ. It's still a nice listen and it was done pretty well. I don't think there is a problem with posting a link to it. Thanks for the quick thinking Neal Smiler

Complete track:

2.3mb, MP3

13.4mb, non seeking shn
