My mom called me just to tell me that Sarah was on CBC "RIGHT NOW!" She was on the program "Sounds Like Canada"
http://www.cbc.ca/insite/SOUNDS_LIKE_CANADA/2005/11/22.html

I would record it if I had an actual radio but all I have is my MP3 player.

Here's the rundown:

-They played Out In The Park and Mary

- She says Out In The Park is something to swing your beerstein to.

-She'd love to write a novel.

-Pilgrim was the first song in the cabin. It's about what went on at the beginning, the darkness and how it felt to be in that place.

-The cabin was terrifying the first few days. The most lonliness and solitude she'd ever experienced.

-Nature and Music brought her back to who she is.

-Solo VS the Band: One is a circus and one is a light snowfall

-the band she loves because she can stand and not play, she loves the piano because it's an unconcious thing.

-loves Judy Garland because her voice is sheer joy, it's the triumph of her spirit.

-Poem VS Lyrics: Lyrics in songs are spilled out, come out as the music is forming. It's an exclamtaion. Poetry is a smooth and quiet rythym. Her poems are more like painting. She starts with a picture and the poem comes from that.

-How does she reveal so much of herself? she feels like she's full up and she wants to give it away and when people give to her it's a never ending abundance. She's compelled to do this.

-Acting: "I'm no actress". She did it to scare her. She gave David Ravens and he e-mailed her and quoted part of "Murder" and said "you're prefect".

-Why does she like older music?: a sweetness and a dedication to the poetry of older music that we miss today. It's the love affair and fantasy of the love affair. She doesn't feel that anymore, she has a soft spot of that area.

-Mary: came over when she was 5 and fell in love and got pregnant, her man, had to go away and train to fly lancasters in WW2. She was amazed at how she was able to bring a baby to term in that, being young and scared and alone.

sorry if this sounds jumbled but I was typing while listening.

"I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me."

dang...missed it

i really wish we could get this stuff posted in advance .... :?

nevertheless, i checked the "sounds like canada" website, they regularly post highlights of the previous day's show - but only one day at a time - in other words, highlights of today's show (hopefully that means Sarah) will be posted for online streaming tomorrow ONLY.

So don't delay.

CRAP!

Just checked their website, they already have today's so-called hightlights up, but no Sarah.

I emailed them to ask if they could put it up and/or if a repeat of the broadcast is planned.

i'll post any response i get.

A littlebird told me that she was going to be on the show and i checked the scheduale yesterday and didn't see her on it. i didn't post about it as it appeared that most interviews are archived.

Unfortunately Sarah's appearance will not be made available online - here's the response i got from CBC Radio;

[quote:c5295d62d7]Hi,
Copyright laws prevent us from putting our musician interviews up on
the site. Sorry about that!

What? Copyright laws? what if the musician gives permission? Or like, what about JUST the interview portion? A lot of radio stations (CHUM FM, for example) will post the conversation part of their shows and just exclude the songs.. ugh
