CBC Radio One played the live version of Mary from Orphan music today. They played it at 6:30am and announced the new album. They normaly only play a couple of songs during the day and concluding the song they annoucned the album comming out.
Could this be the third time Mary is released as a single? I hope so, because the live version sounded fantastic.
i never really liked mary that much when i listened to Day One, but when i saw sarah play mary last time she was in vancouver (which is the one on orphan music), i fell in love with the song. it just seemed so much more beautiful and real when she played it with so much passion
so yes, it should DEFINITELY be requested, if not released
does CBC play alot of sarah slean. I have caught sarah on the radio a couple of times, but only when ive been home since I don't own a radio or anything

They do a fair amount with Sarah over the year.
This year Sarah played a live piano on Here and Now, Defenitly Not The Opera played her main stage set from Hillside, Fuse played her colab session with Buck 65 from Hillside, they featured her in their broadcast of the Canadian Singersongwriter Hall of Fame Galla, interviewed on Sounds Like Canada, and more. They play tracks from all of her albums and some special releases like her singing Love for Sale from Black Widow or one of her Christmas Songs.
That was just for CBC Radio in 2006! I normally only listen to CBC radio when I wake up but judging by playlists, they will play a Slean song every couple of weeks.
Given the availability of stripped-down versions of Sarah's songs, perhaps an influx of requests for those songs might prompt CBC to feed our starved ears more often??
