So, I know most shows Sarah plays at are No Cameras/No Recorders, but, as we all know, fans don't really listen to that.

Does anyone else risk getting caught to tape?

The camera/audio policy I think it almost standard on most ticket stubs. Sometimes it comes down to the artist, but venues, promoters, and labels do have a say. Sometimes it comes down to the gear.

There is no real discussion regards of taping on this forum. After her April 16, 2005 concert at the Phoenix, the forum moderator at the time made a post on "No Taping". It's a bit unclear as almost all threads and posts regards to taping were deleted. I don't have a copy of the deleted 'no taping' thread but this is a clarification Cathy made regards to it.

Sarah has linked to live YouTube videos of her playing in her journal entries over this tour and favorite some live videos.

Looks like it some circumstances it's not frowned on but I don't know where that line is.

I think people will come to their own mind in the end. Out of respect I wouldn't post about it here due to that old history. No fault of yours for asking.

I think Sarah herself actually doesn't like being taped during her performances. At least amataurly. I might be wrong but I remember a posting on an older version of her website where she explained herself.

I don't believe Sarah's words regards to taping have directly ever been posted. Her last forum post came in 2004. Cathy in the Day One era of the forum posted regards to Sarah being upset that the show was taped/being shared. (She had played a new song in that set). Cathy said this opinion was directly from Sarah. Sarah's former manager Heather had posted on the official site regards to taping many years before that. It was reposted on this forum (during the Day One period) but I believe it was also deleted. I think we have only heard these words through reps.

Some tapers have stated they were given permission by Sarah and there is videos where Sarah acknowledges the camera man. So amateur recordings may not always be out of the question. Think the only thing we do know that officially the tapping/trading of them is not supported here.
