[quote:4324c2e892="ProdigyBoy"]i'm currious,
are you going to skip on having breakfast or lunch in order to have a good brunch?[/quote:4324c2e892]

I'll still eat breakfast. I have to go the mall and buy some new clothes and stuff. Well, some sort of thing to wear that's suitable! I wanna look my best.

Any idea and what kinds of things I can talk to Sarah about? The place where we're meeting is supposedly really high class and stuff. I'm unsure how long we'll be there. I'm so excited! I'm listening to 'Day One' the album now! Next up: Night Bugs! Sarah is so classy and sassy!!

She seems to be a very friendly, personable (is that the right word?) kind of person... I'm sure you'll have no problem getting into a normal conversation with her, like you would anybody else you're meeting for the first time.

And throw in a "hi" from me if you can. :P Paul from Winnipeg. hehe

i find it a little ironic that you have to go to the mall and buy things for an occassion to meet ms. slean.

no, i do understand you being nervous and all,I would be beyond belief but really, she's not going to care what you're wearing--think of who we're talking about--you'll be fine! enjoy!

--- and remember kids--november 26th is buy nothing day! why don't we make it a whole week, imagine that.

I wish I had read this place beforehand. Frowner But meeting her was great and the message board WAS mentioned in convo. My guest mentioned the setlists that he said he read from the message board. heh heh!

She was really nice! As nice as Melanie Doane was and Melanie was really nice when I met her. Can't wait for her to return! Sarah is on my list of A-performers!

I suppose I can elaborate some cause I was Mike's guest. It was a great afternoon. Brunch was at the Bitter End. It's a nice little restaurant with a quirky menu...I loved it. When I got there one of the Warner reps was there, and Sean from The Coast was also there. I knew Sean. He has done sound for me at one of my shows (I'm also a singer-songwriter... check out http://www.mitchellhunter.com ) Mike arrived shortly thereafter, and then two girls who had also won arrived. We were waiting for Sarah and Wendy Salsman (the other Warner rep...I know her cause I also do work with Melanie Doane and met her at one of her shows)

Sarah was a sweetheart. She was dressed very "Toronto" as Sean said, which I totally agreed. I'll try and upload the pic of me and her and Mike later. It was sort of badly arranged the way we were sitting. I was at one end of the table and Sarah was at the other end so it wasn't really easy to have a conversation. She shook everyones hand as we did introductions, and we all ordered drinks. I think we did pictures then, but I can't remember exactly as it was all sort of a blur to me. The Warner rep John Poirier had given Mike and one of the girls their prizes, copy of Day One, two tickets to the show, and we all got a poster. Sarah signed everything for us. This happened a little later on. I had brought a couple of my CDs and I gave one to John before Sarah arrived. He opened it up and started reading the credits. He knew a lot of the musicians...most of them had played for Sarah, and he had heard about me so it was cool. He gave Sarah my CD and she started looking at it and it was neat cause she was like "Creighton Doane...Drew Birston...John Adams, I know all these guys!". She asked me what kind of music it was and was excited to see piano keys on the back cover of the CD. I asked her if she was playing the piano at the venue...and she said no, why? I was like cause it's an amazing piano. She said, is it Steinway? And I'm like yep, a nine footer. It was so cute cause she got right dissapointed as she loves Steinways. But with the crazy setup it was too hard to use a piano that big. I asked her what kind of piano she was playing, and she said Yamaha PS??? (I forget the model but its a great one). I then asked her if she liked Bosendorfers but she said she's a Steinway girl.

I'm not sure what order all of these random things happened in. I'm just trying to remember everything I was involved in. She talked a lot with the girls as they were next to her.

Mike asked her if she would play "Bank Accounts" and she said no, it was mainly the new album. I asked her if she would play "Day One" tonight as I LOVE that song and I noticed it hadn't been on the other setlists. She was like "HOW do you know that?" and I was like "I was on the message board and the fans post all the setlists." She seemed surprised. I said "I love that line "i'm spreading love like a terrorist now"" and she made some comment about the producer or label or something wondering if she should be saying that. We all laughed. She said she would try and fit it in the setlist. She didn't play it cause the band said it wouldn't work in the set, but she said she would on the March tour.

Hmm...what else. Oh yeah, we were talking about my music, and I felt so embarassed to even say this...but my single "They Might Say" went up against "Lucky Me" on C100 on their Battle Of The Block Rockin' Beats (they pair two new songs against each other and then people call in and vote online for their favorite) and my song beat "Lucky Me". She thought it was funny and was like "Go you!". So we sort of laughed about that and I was like "it was the first time I heard Lucky Me and I thought for sure I was gonna lose, but they kept saying I was the local boy...so I think I got all the local support". And she laughed and said she'll have to listen and take some notes. . . or something to that effect.

Then she made me sign my CD to her, which was so the weirdest thing I've ever done. I'm thinking..."I'm signing my CD to SARAH SLEAN....what is wrong with this picture?"

I'm trying to remember other stuff but I can't. I know she mentioned loving Halifax...and that she would be back here on the tour. She also said that either "Mary" or "Day One" would be the next single. She hadn't decided yet. John from Warner said "Mary" would be the song to really break her. I agree that AC radio would love it.

Sarah didn't eat. She stayed for about an hour and chit chatted and then her and Wendy left for the venue and we all ordered then.

It was a great afternoon. She's very sweet and showed genuine interest in all of us which was nice. I've met other singers who are total bitches and it totally ruined their music for me. This afternoon made me like Sarah even more.

Well, I guess that answers my earlier question about whether or not Sarah takes a peek in here occasionally. Big Grin

Perhaps she will now?? She must realize how much love she generates among her adoring fans.

Thanks for the play-by-play mitchell - still envious as hell.

I'm glad Mitchell posted everything because even if I had tried, I never would have remembered everything in such great detail! It was late last night when I made my (now) very brief post and it's only now that I'm back here but everything has been listed. YAY! I'm trying to think of anything he might have forgotten. I know that my camera didn't work during picture time. It was my sisters and for some reason the picture wouldn't take but I DID bring my own disposible camera so at the end, before she left, I got a picture with Sarah. And after her show she remembered us too, which is neat but I suppose just because she's a singer, she's not forgetful. It's funny when people make a big deal over being remembered by a singer but I know I see a ton of people a day and often remember them so I suppose they can too.
Anyway, great experience and am looking forward to the pictures!

Ahyes! Another important thing...well, for me. I asked Sarah if she knew Martina Sorbara and she said she did! Red Face Martina's hushand co-produced her CD! I thought that was neat!
