I am faily new to this message board, but I saw this idea (and a wonderful idea it is) posted on littleslean.com. I have every intention of turning in something (thought I'm not sure what) and I told my bother and a few other friends who happend to be fans of Sarah and I believe they are going to start working on something as well.

lol don't start with me Jim! Once reading week is over, I'll be back on that damn train twice a week.

yeah that was what I was grappling with. I had originally thought of painting a photo of pictures I get in my head from each song off the new album... but then I wondered if it was a more "sarah" oriented thing.. cause I have a few realistic drawings I could put it.. I was unsure really what to start diving in on

that's what jim and I have been discussing. Personally I think sarah would be more interested in seeing our creative sides outside of her image.

I remember sarah when she was on the mike bullard show and he asked sarah about her fans and she mentioned that some fans had been giving her portraits of herself at shows and she said they were nice but she didn't know what to do with them. That she would have preferred a nice landscape or something.

Maybe we should send in things then that have been INSPIRED by her music? Not directly with her face or works.. but maybe the way certain things about her music or prose makes US FEEL and then maybe create something in our own artistic faucet.. whether it be a conventional drawing, music cd, poem.. etc ?

Indeed, this question has been the key point of discussion between nik and I in recent days.

I think the original notion growing out of the "passioneers" threads was simply that we all, in various ways, felt insprired by Sarah's art, felt the energy of her revolution of joy and her oft stated goal of music being a noble pursuit and a means to spread beauty in the world.

Having said that, I think any kind of artistic expression that we've been inspired to create should be considered. But I agree, pretty strongly in fact, with the growing consensus that its simply about art, inspired by sarah's art, versus art about sarah.

I think the [b:d0ab10b1b1][i:d0ab10b1b1]"art inspired by"[/i:d0ab10b1b1][/b:d0ab10b1b1] would be better received and would reflect more accurately what we all seem to be feeling due to our good fortune of being exposed to Sarah's passion.
