I did this last year too. I sold my record of Cy Scobie and Sarah Slean on ebay for a hefty sum... though I miss it, it was good to purge and the money was nice too.

Well if you like, i'll volunteer to be the founding curator of the Sarah Slean museum... so far we have a fan t-shirt, a whole bunch of autographed stuff, and umm.. that's about it.
All we need is a building, and some sort of grant to pay for utilities and such.!

I have been a recreational artist up until recently. I was part of a pottery art show at UBC where I sold out my work (except for the set of musicians which I priced very high because I plan on giving them to friends). I have also had many offers to buy my drowning girl paintings, but I am very attached to them.

I am trying to give away as much of my art as I can for Christmas because I want to store as little as possible while I am in Mexico.

Actually, I just found out the other day that I won't be teaching English, I'll be teaching Psychology!!!

You see, I am experienced with teaching English overseas and that is what I interviewed for so that is what I assumed I was hired for. Turns out, no, they chose me for my "psychology profile" and they are putting me in the Human Development Department. I have no clue what this means. Maybe a Family Planning class???

There may also be a chance for me to teach English, and if I count my lucky stars... Art History.

Art History eh? i reckon you'd probably do a really good job at it too Nik. i have a degree in art history, and i've always wanted to teach high school art as a back-up occupation. haven't had to fall back on that just yet. but it would be something i'd really enjoy, and by the looks of it, you would too Nik. i'll keep my fingers crossed for ya. and good luck teaching psychology.

I can see how it would be energizing to restart again with nothing, I just don't know if I could do it. I would be like "where's that CD? Oh crap, I gave it away". Goon on ya though for being able to do it.

i agree nik..i do it every season, not sure if its the change in weather or what, but i don't get rid of my music, i couldn't bring myself to do that. i just rotate it, car/house, house/car
