Calling all Passioneers!

This is something that was put together last year ( http://board.sarahslean.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7141026266/m/2731038266/p/1 ) and it ran really well. It is completely fan run, not anything Sarah Slean is endorsing or is involved in running.

The idea behind this project is that Sarah gives us all so much throughout every year and this is one way that we can give something back. Instead of having everyone buy presents for Sarah the thought is that you can go out and give something back to your community. This way you can pay forward some of the joy we get from Sarah's music, art, concerts etc.

Last year asked for donations solely to your local food banks, this year we'd like to open the field up to pretty much any community project: food banks, clothing drives, toys for tots, volunteering, cleaning up a park, donating to charity- whatever you can do to make your community a little brighter. Everyone is welcome to participate. We had a few people from Europe last year and hope to see many new names this year after Sarah’s recent concert dates in France

We will be making a card again with a list of everyone who took part and the city in which they participated. The plan is to give this card to Sarah at the Toronto stop on her tour (which we're hoping is in December...)

Since we are posting this on the board there is a good possibility that it will not be as much of a surprise as it was last year, but since it is the second year it is to be expected. However, please don't discuss the project in this thread. We have reopened the Yahoo group for all discussion ( http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/slean_holiday/ ). If you have a question that you do not want to post publicly, feel free to email slean_holiday@yahoo.ca.

Once you have participated/donated please send an email to slean_holiday@yahoo.ca with the following information:

*Your name: (as you'd like it to be entered on the card)
*Your screen name: (if you'd like that on the card)
*What you did: (we don't need amounts or specifics. Something like "volunteered at a soup kitchen" "donated to Goodwill" etc, whatever you would like to say)
*City in which you donated:

Everything is on the honour system, you don’t need to provide proof, just go out and do a good thing

We are looking forward to hearing about your contributions to this project. We'll set a deadline for donations as soon as we have a confirmed Toronto concert date.

To begin with, thank you thank you thank you to all who participated! You guys came up with some fabulous ideas of where to donate! This project clearly wouldn't work without the fabulous Passioneers who participate so thank you all so much!

We gave the card to Sarah after the show last night. She loved it and said that it will be kept with the card from last year Also she was very impressed to see what people had come up with this year, she says that you are reading her mind! So well done everyone!
