In light of some of the odd things happening on the board lately, I took the liberty of emailing Cathy Hendrix, who's been conspicuous by her absence of late.

She explained very clearly that "Michael Dixon Mgmt" is no longer representing Sarah and forwarded my concerns about the site/board along.

So, here's hoping that Sarah gets some mgmt representation soon - i can only imagine how much pressure and strain that must be putting on her.

Thanks for getting to the bottom of that Jim. I honestly didn't think that we as a group had been rude to Cathy. I know that after the whole song posting thing, there were some words said, but I thought in general we all treated Cathy with respect. I hope that everything is solved in the near future.

Nice to hear an explanation. I sent her a simular PM weeks ago.

I find it a bit upsetting and rather sad...

This is one of those things that I guess can be left off littleslean news.

Hopefully things become stable for Sarah soon. I don't think there will be that much news to search for other then air dates and times for pretapped brodcasts.

I don't think we will be driven to chaos during the time without a user with any authority. The board normally didn't need to have threads modified outside of what happened after the Phoenix show. It might be ackward if such a situation arises again but really, I think everyone can get past things.

I think some of the comments she may be referring to may be the ones about her absence. In reality, from my understanding, the comments implied that she was doing GOOD THINGS for Sarah by being absent (as was the case the last time she was absent for a lengthy period).

Regardless, if in the future (with or without management) Sarah needs help with the website or messageboard, as someone who runs a web design company I'd be more than happy to help out or take over the reigns. Although you'd think the people who designed the site (I was under the impression it was done by Maple Solutions) would be able to maintain it.

In any case, when business have died down for me in the next month or so I will probably send her an e-mail to see if she needs any help or what have you.

For a web design company, Maple Solutions has a really terrible website. lol.

I think there are many of us (including myself) who would be willing to lend a hand however we can, but I have the feeling that choosing one of us might upset the balance of power, if you will, of the whole situation.


On Cathy's comments, I think it's unfortunate she feels that way. I personally made an effort to always be, at minimum, cordial with her. Most times, but not all, I received the same treatment from her. I know that some users may have made a number of veiled snide remarks in her direction, and it's too bad that she chose to take them personally. Michael Dixon Management, including Cathy, has done a lot for Sarah and her publicity over the last year and I for one am proud of how much recognition Sarah has garnered under their wing. I'm not sure of the specifics of the un-coupling (nor is it any of my business, really), but I sincerely hope that these feelings weren't a factor in the end of their relationship,

I totally agree Neal. As nice as it would be to have board members running the boards and/or the site, I think that it wouldn't end up so good in the long run. We need to have someone who isn't "one of us" in charge. Some people barely listened to Management (Cathy) let alone if it was one of us.

I too am thankfull of all the work that Cathy and the rest of the management team has done for Sarah over the past year. I mean, to go from the woods to the amount of radio she's getting and press she's getting is amazing on everyone's part and I hope that the new management puts in the same amount of effort.

i'll step out of my permanent lurking phase to say..

cathy makes it sounds like the boards here was a WB drama or something. i think the snide remarks and what not are what happens when you put a non-fan on a fan board.

but that's just my $0.02.

and you're quite right (imho) Cathy's comments clearly overstate what, at a stretch, might have been one or two comments that might have been interpreted as a slight towards her. Hell, this is the most polite, more respectful board on the freaking 'net.

oh my the things you miss when you're not around for a while.....it just seems to me that some people are too touchy, and take thing too seriously...and indeed I agree that this board is a very respectful and polite. were all just too sweet :wink:
