I received my copy on the 10th, but didn't pick up the mail until yesterday. I'm in Edmonton, so I thought it was great to get it on time!
Personally, I think it's a beautiful album ... different from her others, of course, but that's a given. I love the simplicity of a lot of the songs ... Sarah's such a good writer! If anyone can share Lonely Side of the Moon or The Rose, that would be great! I'm not sure if I'll buy it on iTunes as well, just for the hidden tracks. Oh, and might I just add, that the insert that comes with the disc is gorgeous! The one on pembina had half a dozen on the shelf for recent releases. Yeah, the whole 9.99 thing sold me. |

That's great. I live maybe 1000 miles from Ontario. I'm in the same country and only 1 time zone away from where they shipped the cd from and I didn't get my copy until the same day as someone in the UK got theirs.
So...4 days late and twice the price as HMV. I'll NEVER buy anything else from sarahslean.com and if it wasn't for their "friendly" return policy of "absolutely no refunds", I'd ship the cd back to them and go buy it for 1/2 the cost. One other thing. Why do they show The Baroness cd in a jewel case when it doesn't actually come in a jewel case?

I did have a thread going before the presale even going to help people compare prices. http://board.sarahslean.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7141026266/m/99310531111 A portion of the sale of the album through ss.com I think goes towards the site. Shame that the album didn't come on or before the release date but it wouldn't detour me from using the ss.com for something like concert tickets. They didn't guarantee that it would arrive before the 11th. If you are still really upset I would write them anyways regards to a refund or credit. Cameron |

Well, I finished up listening to the CD this evening. The songs "Get Home", "Euphoria" & "So Many Miles" are my favorites. I can't believe that Ron Sexsmith appears on the song "Looking For Someone". I also have all of Ron's CD's as well.
 I did not like the song called "Hopeful Hearts" though because it gives me the shivers. |

Actually your price comparison post was one of the deciding factors for preordering the cd on ss.com
When I saw that HMV would have it for $19.99 and other stores would have it for 13.99 or more, I figured I may as well buy in on ss.com. But when I walked into HMV yesterday and saw it for $9.99 after I had paid over $22, I almost hit the roof. I don't know about you but I hate paying twice the price. This was the first, last and absolutely the only purchase I'll make through ss.com That being said..the album is perfection. She sounds beautiful as always. If you haven't seen the video for Get Home, track it down.

When I posted that thread HMV was showing a suggested retail price of 19.99 and hadn't reduced to the sale price yet. Other retailers were still offering it for 13.99 without the $6 shipping charge... and I had a hunch that FutureShop/BestBuy would offer one of the lowest prices. To me, the extra money saved me a trip to the store and came with Parasol. Cameron |
