I would like to see Sarah Slean do the remake of "Trip Through Your Wires" by U2 (from 1987 "The Joshua Tree"). Wonder if any one of you heard of the song by U2?? If any one of you is seeing Sarah in person, could you ask that question?

I'm familiar with that U2 song. The Slean's take on it would be interesting.

I've mentioned before that I'd like to see her cover Radiohead's 'Fake Plastic Trees'.

I'd also like to her The Slean cover Madonna's 'Live To Tell'. I realise it isn't an easy thing to imagine but think of the piano then The Slean singing "I have a tale to tell...". It could be really beautiful.

Somethings only she knows.

Good question...there are SO many songs I'd love to hear her perform. Mind you, she could sing the phone book and i'd be happy. Big Grin

In general, any song that highlights the strength and range of sarah's voice would do her justice.

Having said that, I think it'd be a hoot to hear her do a cover of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".

I'd personally love to see her do a rendition of "Pink Moon" by Nick Drake or "The only living boy in new York" by Simon and Garfunkle. Also, I think it would be a HOOOT to see her do "All So Quiet" by Bjork

` I wanna be the bluebird singing
Singing to the roses in her yard
Roses in her yard her father grew for her
It's been raining like Tennessee honey
So long I got too heavy to fly
Ain't no bluebird ever gets too heavy to sing `

Hmm ... I have to say that I love it when Sarah covers songs that are absolutely gorgeous to hear, even if they're a little obscure. I mean, I would have never listened to Weezer if it wasn't for Butterfly, and I am in love with Sarah's version of The Difference is Why, I'll Never Smile Again, and even the cheesy little love-song, Always.

I think that's a great way for an artist to get someone else interested in other artists. Maybe she should cover one of my songs? Smiler

Oooh... um... well, some of these you'll likely have no clue what they are.

I'd love to see her takes on Dream Theater's "Wait for Sleep" and "Vacant", as well as Labyrinth's "Love"... and for good measure, it'd be fun to see her band do the Cardigans' "Love Fool".

i would LOVE to see her to Love Fool! (btw, The Cardigans latest "Long Gone Before Daylight" is spectacular) ... and of course the Cardigans love to do Sabbath covers ... would love to hear Sarah do one also!

Don't panic, I'll get the arc, you get the animals.

I would love to hear Sarah's rendition of Our Lady Peace's Julia. I love her version when played by OLP themselves, but hearing Sarah do it would be even better.

Oh Jim, you're our resident MP3 resource! lol.

I'm not sure what else I'd like to see her cover. Whenever asked about what covers I'd like to hear I usually opt for something that's COMPLETELY out of the person's genre... because those types of covers usually end up lending a completely different take on a song that would otherwise be not like the person (for example, a cover of Britney's Toxic or something... it's not a great song lyrically, but slowed down and altered like only a good musician can it could be pulled off and turned into something elegant). Actually one song that isn't really a cover but works well in this case is Alanis Morissette's new version of her OLD song "Too Hot" (from her cheesy dance-pop days).. despite being cheesy pop it comes off as a rather powerful song once adapted (until the "throw your hands in the air and wave 'em like you just dont' care" part)... LOL anyways I'm getting sidetracked... failing a cheesy pop cover, I'd love to hear something rather classic... Beatles (or Lennon), Andy Kim, etc.
