One bar, the bouncer had my ID for 5 minutes and had me sign my name on a sheet of paper so they could match it to my driver's license. ahhhh, the good old days of being ID'd.

Frankly, I don't miss them, although i was carded @ the Fleet Centre in Boston a couple of years ago. I'm like, WTF?? Dude, my step-son is your age???

Of course I didn't have my ID with me - and they actually refused me service!

A few years ago on one of our first dates, my boyfriend and I were going to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre (gotta love horror movie dates). THe girl (who looked about twelve) said

"One adult *looks at me* and one child?"

I was like WTF? I'm 19..and six feet tall...considering child tickets were in the 6-13 range, I was a little weirded out by her age guessing..

And be glad you're getting the child's discount and not the seniors' one!!

i'm 22... turning 23 in october.
i still think sometimes that i'm 20.

And it's pretty normal to feel old when you're in your late teens or early twenties. From my experience you feel younger the older you get. Depends on your outlook on life. Granted I'm only 31, but I feel about 28 or so now whereas when I was actually 21 I felt like I was 40.

My giant beard is a dead giveaway to getting in bars... funny that I never carry any I.D.s in my pockets every time I went in.

I turn 20 in November. Mind you, it'll be my second time turning 20. Then next year, I'll turn 20 for the third time.

i'm getting close to that ...(i can't believe i'm actually going to type this) the 30 mark and i love it that i still get ID...it is wonderful

i've never had a problem with being ID'd. getting into 19+ shows has never been a problem - they just look at my licence, at me, then they hand it back without a question. one dude once said, "ah, you're a scorpio." i don't know if he was just seeing how i'd react (if it wasn't mine, i might say, "huh?" i guess) or if he was just chatting me up.

mind you, i look about 16. so i also expect to be hassled and i never am. i wonder what that means.

but then, the photo on my licence is sadly accurate-looking to how i look daily. i say "sadly" because i think my licence photo is hideously ugly. but alas. i digress.

I plan to make the most of the fact that I turn 21 in November (mind you, I will probably regress to 20 after that...), by saving up my cash over the summer (I just got a job with the gov't, so I'm all set), and going to Vegas in Nov. for my b-day . This is my plan, and I'm going to have a fabulous time being legal in the States.

20 was a big deal for me...not being a teenager anymore and looking back at your teenage years and thinking "so...what did I do?"

But, on the topic of being ID'd, I took some mid-late 30's friends of mine to a couple of clubs in town when they visited and they all got ID'd, so I guess it's just policy. I also know that my brother's friend who is about 6 feet and 250+ pounds and looks like he's about 30 but is actually 17 has never been ID'd at the liquor store, so who knows.

Haha. Being 21 in Vegas is Awesome . THe worst part though, I spent a night there back in July and didn't get ID'ed ONCE!! There are like NO laws in Nevada, I love it. lol.

That's ok, at least I will know how old I am and can tell everyone I meet "I just turned 21" lol.
