I can't have been the only one who caught it!
My memory's kind of flaky, but here are some things that stood out in the interview for me. I would like to warn you, though, that the following may contain something that I've learned is reffered to in internet-speak as spoilers (kind of like don't eat these cookies, or you'll spoil your apetite for dinner!)
The interview was mostly about the different characters that Sarah, I don't know, channels? (that's not quite the right word I think, but I can't recall any better). The emphasis being on the Baroness.
How the Baroness is kind of this personality (whom Sarah acknowledged is not from the Sound of Music, but thought that was an interesting idea) that's big and (I want to say haughty? That's probably wrong though) and is like the leader of the other characters. It was revealed that the Baroness appears mostly when Sarah is on stage performing (rather than when she is writing music, where it's more just her and her piano) and helps her to, kind of, do things that she feels she wouldn't be able to do on her own as the normal-person Sarah Slean (like performing in front of any more than six eyes). Mr. Neal suggested that maybe The Baroness was like Sarah Slean's Wonder Woman, and Sarah suggested that that could be the case, for starters because they both wear extravagant outfits that wouldn't be worn by real people. She also related how at the Vancouver concert she closed her eyes before she started and felt almost like the Baroness took over/she became the Baroness(?). She also revealed how she hopes to include the animated Tales of the Baroness in her next album.
How cookie (is that the right name?) the crime scene photographer has disapeared from her life, and that Sarah no longer sings the songs in which she makes an appearance (I got the sense that maybe Madelline was one of them, specifically because of the usage of the word aftermath). She suggested that maybe she outgrew the character/didn't need her anymore in her life(?)
A character named Elaine was also alluded to, I think by Mr. Neal.
In between the interview portions, the versions of Pilgrim and Lucky Me from Orphan Music were played.
Discussion about a quote from Glenn Gould about art coming not from a blank canvas, but instead from a black void/space? At the time, it left quite an impression on me, but I can't for the life of me remember it. Maybe it's somewhere in my head, marinating with the rest of my thoughts...
That's all I can remember, I realize that I'm not doing the interview justice. Not to mention the fact that the interview was like a thousand times more articulate than anything I've written here! I also apologize if I've jumbled things up (maybe someone could correct me) and I'm absolutely certain that there was a whole lot more discussed during the interview.
P.S. Mr. Neal, I do not think your unthinkable error was noticable at all. Fate and faith sound somewhat similar. Heck, if you say them really fast, and cut the h off early in faith, they're practically the same!
