What do you think of it? I personally really like it. There is nothing better than hearing Sarah play live except seeing her play live and Orphan Music was just great. It was so nicely put together. It is especially nice because Sarah can actually sing live as opposed to other artists these days. Also, I was actually shocked upon hearing Last Year's War in a 'why wasn't this released before' way -- it is such an amazing song! Anyway, yes, I really like it! How do you feel about it?
I think it protray's Sarah's performing ability as well as any audio recording could. Of course, seeing her live you can catch her theatrical performance as well. She's quite hilarious and amazing!
I agree, I like how there are little tidbits of her talking before and after some of the recordings. I keep listening to this album over and over again but I can't narrow down a favourite track! It's brilliant!
I quite enjoy it as well- refreshing to hear a live album from someone who can actually SING!
I am quite happy to have some official tracks, rather than bootlegs (eg Last Years War). Now I only have to wait for the announcement of the Vancouver and Victoria tour dates...

Fenian
PS Did anyone else do what I did and purchase the autographed copy off of MapleMusic, AND one from a local CD shop the day it came out so you could listen to it right away? The non-autographed copy will be used as a loaner to spread the gospel...
I really like it. I had mixed feelings when I first saw the set list posted and noticed some of the tracks not included.
I am happy with what came out. Last Year's War sounds stunning. The studio work on Wilderness and Little London Night were pretty good and fits this album nicely.
I am currious on what those that were critical of Day One being over produced think about these versions. I may ask some reviewers of Day One but it's the fans I'm more interested in.
I'm really enjoying the record. It's so familiar (in the best way). It's so close to being right there in concert, I wish there was a bit more in between song chit-chat but it's nice to have those jokes and stuff special for each show. I can't wait for a live dvd!
"I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me."
it actually feels like a live album, so many live albums these days have been fixed up in the studio and stuff. but sarahs is just raw, and true. and I love the new songs(well demos). Wilderness *heart heart*
I completely agree. There is something is this album that is raw and beautiful that I can't quite put my finger on. Last Year's War was so beautiful I almost cried when I heard it on the album. If only she managed to put "Count Me Out" on it....that would really have been the icing on the cake.
i finally bought the album over the weekend! i did have a hard time taking out the booklet thinger out because i tried taking it out from the inside... not until after i took it out did i realize there was an opening on the right side at the front of it... hahha. but anyways, about the album... i have yet to listen to it! still debating whether or not to wait until after the concert to listen to it so that there's still an element of surprise...
i love her live and this album is incredible. I finally got it in the mail about 10 minutes ago after waiting a week for it to get to me in the states. It was pretty awesome to see that the cover of the pull out is from the show i actually first saw her and fell in love with her music so that was a nice surprise.
^ and thats the sign of a true artist if you can make a lisitner feel that kind of emotion from lisitening to your album for the first time...then well you know that you have created something amazing!
I love the Album for the Live tracks. But I was a little upset at finding hearing the DNA recording of Weight done with Strings only. I've been wanting a piano/vocal of Weight for some time. And the DNA version hasn't really grown on me.
I haven't gotten attached to the B-Sides on the album, either. I'd have loved to have the whole Album as live tracks. Especially because Sarah's just got such a presence when it comes to performing. You can feel it in the recording.
Yeah, I hear ya. I think I'd have rathered have had a CD of all live tracks and then maybe a second mini-CD or something of the studio recordings. And I haven't grown on the new version of 'Weight' either.
I still love the CD though, don't get me wrong, and it's awesome that it was put out, for sure!
